Hmm. I wonder if the museum could use any of these.

F#&$@*!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought my british para pants from him like 2 weeks ago.

Oh well. Now I have the para pants. They are still the correct ones to have as 1CanPara men were occasionally issued with them to replace their Canadian issue BDU pants while over in Europe.

I have an original Canadian produced and issued BDU tunic, as well as the badging for it. Maybe I can still get the pants to match my original tunic for a display barracks order/walking out dress set.

Oh well, I have to finish off my battle order first. After that, I will concentrate on my barracks order.

Correct me if I am wrong , the BD would only been worn in Garrison, and the Jump Pants in the field. Forgiving that some might not have been issued or lost their jump pants.

I think that is the case; at least for those who had jump pants. Not everyone were issued the jump pants; and i believe there was no Canadian equivalent. Only certain latewar British units actually got the jump pants.

Either way, a soldier had 2 sets of pants, even if they were both standard BDU. One was for barracks order (walking out) uniform, the others were for combat use. the barracks order were shiney, clean, and unmodified. They would have been worn with the BDU jacket, beret, and unblancoed gaiters and web belt. the combat pair were modified as needed, and were designed to be used, not look pretty.

I'll look it up tonight to be sure. I don't think Canadians got para pants as standard issue. I could be wrong though.

The RAOC were responsible for supplying 1 Can Para and therefore para pants were issued from just before D Day on.

You are right. I looked it up in Into the Maelstrom, and I was wrong. Aparently they were standard issue. there was a shortage though, so many jumpers went in standard BD. Also, they were issued with orders never to wear the para pants except when specifically directed by the unit CO in the event of a mission or specific training event. it was a violation of these orders to wear them at any other time, especially when walking out as they didn't match the Cdn. issue BD blouse.

These para pants were not considered standard issue pants, so a paratrooper would still have had the 2 additional pairs of BDU pants; one pair for parade/spit-and-polish, and one pair for informal walking out/battle order.

Really! That surprises me. The pocket was there on my para trousers, and they even show it on the photos for the Cdn. issue BDU pants.

I just ordered a pair of the pants yesterday. Can't wait to see how they match the uniform top I had made, if not I'll have to order the top to. How die you guys find the sizing, is it pretty close to what is stated. The biggest they had on hand was 36 waist which should do. A 34 is to small and a 38 I need a belt so I hope thier 36 is true, a bit bigger is ok smaller not so good. Also what kind of wait time on delivery did you guys see, no hurry just wondering.

Just had a bit of nightmare with them to be honest. Ordered a full BDU to keep for displays, had lots of good comms for combining the order, then they arrived separately two weeks apart. Ebay had it on their log that the pants shipped on 2nd Sept, the jacket on the 14th, though Barry was adamant they were shipped the same day and it was Canada customs that delayed the jacket.

I will tolerate mistakes, but I don't like being bullshitted. But then, when you're dropping $200+ I expect better service.

Sizing and quality look okay, but still I'm not a happy chappy with him really.
