The Russell Aviation Group Airshow 2009 - Friendly Foes above the Falls

The Russell Group Airshow Web site

This will be a Level 1 Living History event - All uniforms and gear have to be 95 - 100%. Only period weapons to be used.

We need both Germans and Allies for this event. We need to setup a display - their theme is D-Day +7. We can setup period tents, dig fox holes, etc. So let's use our our resources and come up with two (or more) great displays. I plan on going the Friday to start setting up, we have to be ready to go and setup by 10:00 Saturday morning. If you plan on coming on Saturday please be early to help setup.

We need a good turn out for this - maybe even better then last year. There will be other re-enactor groups there. Pictures will be taken with period vechicles and planes.

Again, please do not sign up unless you are going to be there... hopefully for the full Saturday and Sunday. When you sign up please let me know if you will be there for full weekend, just Saturday or just Sunday.

I need to let them know how many people we will have and how much room we will need for the display(s) so please sign up ASAP. If the Brits want to have their own display let me know so I can tell Doug how much room we will need. We did not have any Germans last year but I'm hoping that will change this year.

We will be able to camp out at the airfield with the rest of the re-enactors for free and lunch will be free as well. Breakfast and dinner are only $5 each.

ATTENDING

ALLIES

101st Airborne Easy Company
Leecas (full weekend)
Mr Evolution (full weekend)
Str8shot (full weekend)
Fader (Sat thru Sunday)

1st Canadian Para/British 6th Para
Crash + 2
Dogfood
Backspasm (Sat thru Sunday)
Yorkie (Sat thru Sunday)

I think I'm going to have to wave off from this event as well. I need to replace several things to be properly ready for this, and I doubt whether I will have the resources to get what's needed. The Timeline event is looking decidedly unlikely for me as well to be perfectly honest.

We'll see though; they're always at the back of my mind so there might be a way to figure it out, but I don't want to commit to these and then to have to back out closer to the dates.

Sorry fellas.

Glynn.

Sorry to hear that Glynn but there is still a lot of time so if you can make it it would be good to have your there.

Hey guys, I know this is still early but anyone that is going to attend could you please sign up. I need to get an idea of how much space that we are going to need for displays.

Thanks,
Lee

If anyone has space in their car and is coming from the GTA I can meet you anywhere that GO transit will take me.

So my recent email with the HR people for my summer job went like this:

"I might have to go away for 2-3 Saturdays the entire summer"

"We cannot accommodate your request, students must be available the entire summer"

Grrrrrrr.
This will be my 3rd summer there, never late once, never sick, never missed a day.

Ill still be coming, I just might be late.
