Wow... All I can say is that for those of you weren't there you missed out. Thanks goes out to both Lee and the East Elgin Sportsmen's Association for a great day.

What an awsome day!!!! Thanks to Lee for putting this together, and a big thanks for the club for letting us attend ! I can't begin to describe the sights and sounds that were there that day. A fully restored Bren gun carrier that was running around giving people rides. What a machine it was, and the detail that was put into it was amazing! We got to meet a lot of good people this day, and alot of the gun clubs members were really intrested in airsoft. Here's the event that made Matt's day, getting to let loose on a .30cal that Marstar Canada brought with them among other things. Here's the pictures I took.

Well, I had to do some family time before I could jump on line to do the after action report.

As you can see from some of Rob's pics and from their comments it was a great day even with the heat.

I want to thank Rob, Matt and Jamie for coming out to spend the day answering questions and letting people try out their guns. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Thanks goes to Clint for the invite and I hope we can make this an annual event.

I think our group had a positive response from the club members and we were able to educate them about airsoft. As Rob mentioned we met some great people. I had a great conversation with John (the owner of Marstar) about the future of airsoft... expect the Feds to announce a decision in regard to airsoft in the coming weeks.

Yes, I'm still pissed that Matt got to shoot off the .30 Cal and I didn't... I did however get a chance to get a very good look at the .30 Cal and compare it to the one I built. The best compliment was that some people thought my .30 Cal was real and others couldn't tell that it was made from PVC. I built mine from pictures and measurements taken from books and I was pretty much spot on. Look at the pics to compare the two side by side.

and yes I got stuck at the Table when the guys went off to look at the carrier. But no big deal we all took turns looking around and manning the table.

I think the best part was when we were standing around and the OPP officer walked up to us for a little chat. All our guns displayed on the table, grenades strapped to our suspenders... I started to breath when he said... "you guys look real good! Are you going to be doing some shooting today?"

I will post the PICS on the Main site in the Photo section.

I never did get any pics of the WWI re-enactors... man, they must of went home with a major heat rash in those uniforms! Did I mention that it was hot!

Again, thanks guys for coming out.

Sorry guys, I made the changes to the website with the new pictures but nothing is happening. I have submitted a service call to figure out what is going on. Pics will be up once I can make changes again.

I'm sorry I missed this, it sounded like a blast (quite literally). The Bren Carrier looks amazing, I've always been surprised about the speeds they can get up to.

I understand we may get some new recruits from this and a possible new field to play at.

Great job fellas, well done!

Cheers,

Glynn.

That carrier looks really neat, but looks like a death trap.

Was it a recon vehicle? Supply wagon?

Troop carrier... actually called universal carriers, kinda like a WWII Hummer with tracks. Designed to hold crew of 2 plus 4 more (quite often with 6-Cool. The Germans used them quite a bit.... seems they aquired them at a garage sale or something in a place called Dunkirk. Mr. Green
