After 11 years of doing this and after thinking long and hard I have decided that this will be my last full year re-enacting.

I'm very proud of the accomplishments over the last 11 years. Starting with me alone running around airsoft fields in WWII gear... to doing Living History events, full WWII Airsoft and Blank Fire Tacticals.

We built a WWII community that helped to encourage other WWII communities to start up. We had some great events... Day-D at John D's farm will be one of my favourites... how often do you get to blow up a tank?!

I even got to be involved in some film work which was a lot of fun.

My trip to the Czech Fury last year was a re-enactors dream trip. It was exactly why I got into this hobby in the first place and there will never be anything here in North America that will come close. (Unless I win a HUGE lottery and I build the WWII Re-enactor's Disney Land that I always wanted). I would encourage any re-enactor to go on one of these trips.

I plan on going to the Normandy trip next year as my last Hoorah and then after that I might go to a tactical once in a while.

Scott Hatch has agreed to take over as CO of the 101st. So, we will use the next year to transition command.

So this isn't goodbye... it's more like I'll see you around.

Thanks for the great times!

Sure you don't want one more year? There is still the Normandy trip next year

I intend on going to Normandy. And I would encourage others to do the same. You will not find anything close to it in North America.

What?! Shocked

Sorry to see this happen Lee, you have been a great inspiration to the group, and the hobby. To see it grow from where we started 11 years ago to now is an incredible accomplishment. See you soon i hope.... Sad

I remember my first, ww2 themed airsoft game.

Lee, you were there.

You never gave up on the hobby, or had even the slightest doubt, it was really damned small, only a few people.

And look what you've built.
Very impressive. That is something to admire. And I am glad, that I was a small part of it.

Will always remember happily the good old days in Old FR.
Heck, I wish I could get out to events as often as I did back then..

He said his goodbyes but I keep still hearing him calling Germans names every time we bump into Allies Smile Sometimes it takes several years to retire. Most of us know who I'm talking about Smile Took him 3 years.

Thanks Akos, I appreciate the kind words! You were a very BIG part!

You were always 100% and you always looked like you walked right out of the history books. It was always fun being up against you.
