2011 Southern Ontario Military Muster - Aug. 11th, 12th, 13th & 14th

It was a blast last year and I think this year will even be better!

This is a living history event so this is a Level 1 event. That means that your uniform and gear have to be at least 95% and your weapon at 100%.

This is for both the Allies and Axis - It would be nice to get some more Germans out to this event this year!

If your kit isn't 100% ask and I'm sure we can help to gear you up to get to at 95%.

If you can't come for the three days (which is the preferred) then come down for at least one or two of them. Make sure you state the days you will be coming. Oh by the way setup might be the Thursday August 11th, I'm still waiting to hear back from Mike. It would be nice to have some help so let me know if you can also help with the setup. YES... this year we will be digging a fox hole!

Also note that I will sign us up on their web site once I have the numbers that will be attending. I would like to see about 15 members this year!

I'm leaving that one well alone. Laughing

In for the event, most likely.

Yes, John you can have a ride. And thank you Glynn for leaving it alone. John, you really need to choose your words carefully.

I knew you were going to go but I need to see it on the forum or it isn't true. Very Happy Are you going Canadian... German... or both?

Matt, no TENT... you're in! If life makes you have to change that then that's fine but for now plan to be there! Wink

Guys, I know this early but it let's you to schedule work off and to make sure that the domestic overlord does not book you in for anything. You know that type of thing. So get it on your schedule and don't miss this event. It was great time last year and I think it will be even better this year!

Sorry Lee, just still can't get over how much stuff you managed to pack last year but still keep things comfortable.

I heard back from Mike and Friday is mostly going to be for the Vets. The gates will be open to the public but there will be no staged Battle on Friday. He understands if people can't setup on the Thursday due to work and all but it would be great if we could.

I will most likely be taking vacation time this week (if I'm still working and if not no worries about not getting the time off) so I will be planning to get there the Thursday and start setting up. If you can join me on the Thursday that's great and if not try to get there on Friday as early as you can. We can make the setup as part of the display.

He is also hoping to get people to help distribute some posters east of London so if you can help please let me know.

Hi folks,

Update: I have been liaising with Canadian Border Services with regards to our Southern (North here in Windsor) neighbours about crossing the border with vehicles and weapons. Lotsa paper work but it will definately pay off. There will be a convoy organized to cross the bridge and head to the Muster....possible M3 Armoured Car...M8 Greyhound, Halftrack, Weasel, Jeeps CCKW and so on....good news.

The pyro guy and I have been making plans for at least a 45 min display for the groud this year. To include weapons demo with 6pdr, mortars and heavy machineguns....gonna be a blast. Working on larger explosions similar to Pacific whereby re enactors can be closer and we will utilize more special effects...air busts...etc....

For those who have PALs and are graduating up and have specific ammo requirements, Please let me know soonest so I can order the good stuff. Gotta do it early because of all the other events.

More info as it comes in.......

Cheers
