So i have my hbts blank now as i have been wearing them as summer 44 w/ m41 ect. But w/ my full wools in for my DDAY, dday + uniform i was thinking to use them solely as a Sicily impression for those hot days. Thinking of sewing on insignia (as 1st ID did in N.Africa and Sicily) and stenciling on my Sgt stripes w/ ink ? Still can be worn as summer 44 too i guess but not likely i will, what do you guys think ?

Stenciling rank on your HBT's is fine. Shouldn't be any fuss over it really.

Go to a fabric shop and get markers that are spacific to cloth. Make sure you do a test first. Otherwise you're going to get bleeding and it will look like crap and that will be the end of your HBTs.

So they are done and i could not be happier ! After 2 weeks of different ink and stencil prototypes i finally felt confident enough to proceed today. Not to say it wasn't stressful as hell, lol its only a one shot deal rite ! The bleeding was very minimal although not perfect i doubt they were when the gi's used a stencil kit during the war. Tell me what you think, and yes i want that shoulder patch so what if i fall into the 1% who patched their HBTs lol, it was done !
