This has probably been discussed already... I was wondering why in the games that once your hit you don't stay hit (dead) until that action is over... I don't know say if your hit buy more then say 3 shots your done. its hard for me to describe someone might know what I mean.. I don't want to open a can of warms here. Embarassed

I know it's unrealistic, but there are practical reasons for it.

If players have to wait longer than 10-15 minutes to re-spawn, they tend to get bored, and when players get bored, they lose interest in the game. This can create all sorts of problems(just ask Brian or one of the other game hosts).

It also helps make up for the fact that while the scenarios most events simulate involved platoon, company, or even battalion sized units, the group is only able to field about half a platoon for each side. Having constant reinforcements spawning helps create the illusion of having much larger units particpating.

Hope that all makes sense.

Respawning.. replicates reinforcements entering the field..

there are ways to do it that reduce some aspects of the "game" aspect

I'm pushing Mission based operations, so that each player would have one life per mission, and a event would entail many missions.

if you are killed in a mission then you have to wait until the next mission to get back into action.

While waiting for your next mission you can work on non combat tasks
