Well the Airsoft Convention went very well for Ontario Airsoft WWII Re-enactors. Things started slow but it picked up by lunch time. We had a lot of positive feed back and I think a lot of interest in joining our group.

I think our table had an excellent display of weapons and artifacts.

Allied weapons:

Thompson
M1 Carbine
M14 (yeah, I know it's not WWII but it still looked good)
1911 colt 45 (My springer - I haven't forgotten about the link)
M1911A1 Colt 45

Axis weapons:

MP40 (x2)
Kar 98
M1934 Beretta

We also had on display the following items:

GI Mess kit
K Ration boxes (Breakfast. dinner, Supper)
High Explosives and crate
period Money (German and Allied issued)
German paperwork (ID Book, Pay Book, etc.)

We even won some prizes.

Rob Purvey won a $50 gift cert. for best Axis impression
Lee Cassar won a $50 gift cert. for best Allied impression (after all I was going up against Billy Laughing ) and $100 gift Cert. for overall best impression.

We all looked great and it was noticed and noted.

I would like to thank Brian McIlmoyle for putting on the convention, I know that it will only grow. I look forward to the next one in the spring of 2007.

I would also like to thank Billy Dungey, Akos Bozo and Rob Purvey for coming out in full gear and helping with the event. I don't think we would of had the same re-action from the people at the convention if it had only been me there alone. So, thank you! I know that it was a very long day and your help was greatly appreciated.

Next year we will have twice as many there in full gear.

A lot of people kept looking at my 1911 Colt 45 Springer and couldn't believe that A0 it was a springer and b) that it was originally a clear gun. I promised everyone that I would post a link. So here it is.

The bad news is that it no longer looks like they are selling the 1911. As a matter of fact they are only sell two clear guns. Sorry, maybe they will get more soon.

The event was great.
Lot of people showed interest in WW2 stuff.
People were amazed by the guns, yes indeed it was impressive.

I really had a good time, looking forward for the next event
